Here is the mailbox that inspired this blog. It was in Columbus, Ohio, on Dublin Road north of Trabue Road - no longer accepting mail, as a new cousin stands across the road. Send in your pictures of rusty mailboxes to join it!

Matthew shares this photo of one he found in Mersea, England. He says, "This mailbox sits at the end of a jetty leading to some rather sad looking house boats on Mersea Island."

Thanks, Matthew!

(September 30. 2010 - look at RM #251 - I just noticed it's the same box.)

Simon Shaw found this collection mail box beginning to rust in Land's End, Cornwall, England.
You might say< "Wait a minute, aren't U.K. boxes red?" Look closely and you'll see the notice enlarged below: Removed from service or not, it still qualifies as a rusty mailbox!

Thanks, Simon!

Matt Wilkinson found the remnants of this George VI British post box in the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel. The British ruled Jerusalem from 1917 until 1948, that's why you find vestiges of such things there now.

Thanks, Matt!
